When it comes to learning how to jump higher, you’ll notice there are no instant fixes. There are, however, plenty of ways to improve your jump technique, to gain a competitive advantage.
Lots of exercises and dunk programs are available, and they can help you to reach your maximum jump potential. However, here are some basic exercises you can consider, in order to jump higher right now.
Split squats start in the lunge position. Once you are in position, jump up and switch legs, so that you work each leg in turn.
Box jumps involve you jumping on to a safely fixed box or step, then stepping down and repeating multiple times.
Depth jumps involve stepping off a box and then jumping into the air. These can be quite intense, so do them a little, not too often.
What these exercises have in common is that they are plyometric jumping exercises that will help to improve your explosive jumping power, so you can improve your dunk.
