Our Anniversary Gifts

Our anniversary is probably our favorite occasion of the year. We do not celebrate other holidays and so our anniversary is a special time for us to exchange gifts and spend time with one another. We usually even invite our parents and brothers and sisters over for our anniversary dinner. Last year my husband got me a gift that I have wanted for a long time. He got me a puppy. It probably sounds very childish but I have wanted a dog for the entire 10 years that we have been married. I was never able to have pets in my home as a child because of my parents allergies. And due to our living circumstances I have not been able to have one of the most of the time we were married. So when I saw a little puppy staring at me through a box I was so excited. I got my husband a nice Rolex watch as a gift.

Losing the Engagement Ring

It has happened to me before and apparently it happens a lot more often for others I know. What exactly are we talking about? We’re talking about losing the engagement ring. Yes you heard that right, those same gold engagement rings you spend a small fortune on and deliberated over for days. Losing it somewhere, only to stress out and pull out what little hair you have left.

How does this happen? Well I’m not sure about other, but happened to me when I got cold feet. I started to listen to all the fear, listen to all my single friends, all my unhappy married friends and even the news talk about failed marriages and why they don’t work. It seemed at the time when I was ready to pop the question, every negative reason why I shouldn’t get married came running in.

So I got cold feet, and hid the ring somewhere no one could find it while I took a few days which turned into weeks, to think the whole thing through properly. Once I decided that I was ready and that I was being a fool not to marry the woman of my dreams, I could not find the ring. Apparently I did such a good job hiding it, I hid it from myself.

It took a few hours tearing down the apartment for me to retrieve it, which was a relief, because those things are expensive. What I would recommend to others, is if you’re planning to get married, think it through properly first. Get your worries out and then buy the ring. Once you purchase one of the best engagement rings, have everything planned, so you propose right away.

If you’re not planning to pop the question right away, make a not to yourself, in your phone, email and even on your computer as to where you’re hiding the engagement ring. It will save you a lot of hours and also a lot of stress.
