Our neighborhood is getting a bit uncomfortable for me. The crime rate is increasing and I don’t really feel safe any more. I have a dog, but he is very friendly. I don’t want the monthly charge of an alarm system. So instead I have decided to buy a gun. I grew up around guns and using guns, so gun safety is not really an issue for me. But I am concerned about the gun getting into the wrong hands. What if someone broke into the house while I was away and stole the gun? So I’ve decided to buy a gun safe. But I really prefer keyless locks for something that I may need to access in a hurry or in the dark. I don’t like the idea of having to hunt around for keys. And I don’t like the idea of the burglar finding the keys and being able to access the safe. Choosing keyless locks is the safest choice for our gun safe.

The Best Lock for My Safe
Sunday, November 6th, 2011Window Locks Are the Best Home Defense Ammo
Saturday, June 18th, 2011It is often reported that most burglaries in the country occur through a forced window. Burglars will either break the glass or slip the catch to enter the house. So the best home defense ammo against burglaries is just to fit secure window locks in the home.
Good quality locks do not cost every much and fitting them in the home would mean that burglars have no choice but to break the glass panes. This is a deterrent to some criminals because it would create a lot of unwanted noise which might bring attention to what they are doing. When burglars see locks on the panes, they are most likely to give the house a miss and move on to a more unsecured one. Most new homes come with good window locks, so homeowners do not need to spend additional expenses on it. However it would be advisable to constantly check on the condition to ensure that it is in good working order.
Residential Security Cameras Installed in a House
Saturday, June 18th, 2011If you have ever been in a house that has Residential Security Cameras installed all over the place, you know that it can make you feel like someone is constantly watching you. You have the picture of a security guard in your mind. He is sitting on a chair, surrounded by little screens that are all connected to the different residential security cameras that are installed in the house and around the house. But often, this is not the case. Most of the people who own residential security cameras do not have someone locked away in a room to have a constant lookout on what is happening inside the house. The cameras are mainly there so that they can go back in time and check what happened if they think that something has happened! Most people just cannot afford to employ a full-time security guard who does nothing but checking what the cameras are recording!

Monday, June 13th, 2011When it comes to sending a child off to college or when they are moving out of the house for the first time, parents often find themselves worrying about things like whether their kids have all the furnishings, clothing, and supplies that they will need for living on their own. One area that often gets neglected is buying the self defense products that your kids will need to be safe and secure. Living in the dorms can be tough and when kids need to buy self defense products st louis, they should look for products that will help keep their valuables safe in a dorm room. The truth is that a dorm room is one of the least secure options for personal belongings of any other form of college living. Dorm living forces your child to share a room leaving their belongings unsecured with a roommate that potentially can’t be trusted or isn’t responsible enough to lock the dorm room when they aren’t in it. A lock box and laptop security devices are a few of the first things to buy self defense products st louis for dorm living. A lock box or security box is a great way to lock up things like jewelry, passports, and other important pieces of information that need to be protected and out of sight. Most security boxes are fairly light and can be easily tucked under a bed or place in a closet. A laptop lock is much like a bike lock that tethers your laptop to your desk when you aren’t using it. You have probably seen devices like these on equipment in retail stores and you can see that they are fairly protective when it comes to keeping electronics safe. A locking laptop device is a great way to keep your laptop safe if you choose to leave it in your room. Your laptop itself should be password protected as well, but theft of the equipment itself is as big of issue as the identity theft that could take place with an unprotected operating system. Another item to get is to buy self defense products st louis that are designed for personal safety. These items are whistles, proximity alarms, pepper spray, and tasers that are designed to protect an individual in the event of a physical attack. These devices are designed to be a last ditch item in the event that your kid is attacked on or around campus and can be really great tools when it comes to keeping themselves safe as well as protecting the belongings that they carry with them. The biggest thing that your kids need in order to protect their own personal safety is awareness. Teach your kids to stay vigilant about their possessions and their personal safety and they will be in a great place to be successful.
Save Yourself and Your Family
Friday, June 10th, 2011From the very outset of civilization, men have been using weapons like rocks, sticks and so on for security purposes. Day by day, time has changed but men still need security and it’s the reason why firearms were invented. These weapons are necessary to protect oneself and his family from an intruder into his home.
In order to keep your little children and family safe, you should own a gun safe to store the weapon. To keep weapons safe from thieves and criminals and avoid any unwanted situations, you should keep your weapons in a safe place. Many place their gun safes like under the floor and stairwell, beside walls, even vehicles may be used as a safe place. If you want something of a newer technology, use digital locks but it may create a problem if you lose your password. Therefore it is suggested to use a biometric safe, which is accessed only by your fingerprint in order to save yourself and your family from an unwanted situation by having immediate access to the safe’s contents with the use of only your finger.

Apartment Alarm Systems for Safety
Saturday, June 4th, 2011Among the best ways of boosting the safety and security in apartments is using apartment alarm systems, otherwise known as burglar alarm systems. These generally cost a little more, and yet the good news is that they are not as pricey as many individuals believe; it is a common misunderstanding that the cost of all apartment alarm systems is steep. In the event that you are good with DIY projects, you could install your own home alarm system. You could go with a system that is hardwired, or you could opt for a wireless system. Either way, if you have a huge space to cover, it will not be wise to go with a wireless system, mostly because this will not be able to cover a wide range. Dependability for apartment alarm systems has greatly improved over the years, and many regard them as dependable as hardwired varieties. These systems are effortless to install.
Protecting Myself in the Parking Garage
Wednesday, May 4th, 2011I recently took a promotion at work that now requires me to work an evening shift that often stretches far into the night. Oftentimes, I’m one of the last people to leave and that means I have to make a scary journey through a nearly empty parking garage. Even worse, I always have to park all the way on the other side because it’s full when I arrive at the job. This means I have to walk for five minutes through a dimly lit concrete building to reach my vehicle. I’m often worried about running into an unsavory character and suffering a horrible fate at his hands. I told my father about the long walk, as I call it, and he told me to get on the Internet and do a Bing search for wildfire spray. I followed his advice and now I walk through the garage knowing I’ve got a good chance at defending myself if problems arise.

Dummy Outdoor Security Camera Things
Friday, April 1st, 2011Dummy outdoor security camera is a great way of making sure you have just the extra little bit of security your family may need. Whether or not the camera works, it is still a theft deterrent in that the thief will have to think twice before entering to see if it would be worth getting caught on camera. I personally have used a dummy camera in the past actually in my vehicle, to deter thieves from trying to enter into my car and steal my radio. Similarly, I have put a dummy camera outside of my apartment door, to make sure no one wants to enter in and put his hands on the thousands of dollars worth of valuables that you have. Since then I have recently bought a real movie camera, after an attempted theft, and added it to my deterrent factor. That and signs stating that they are on camera.

How House Contents Insurance Differs from Home Insurance Policies

How to Choose and Install a Security System for Home
Sunday, November 14th, 2010It really does not make sense to wait until your home has been burglarized before you install a security system. When choosing a security system for home and setting it up, try to imagine how a thief would act when he attempts to break in. Obviously, he would hesitate to enter a home when he is made aware that you have installed an alarm system. Why take the risk when there are easier targets? And because the common entry points are the windows and doors, it is common to position the security systems to protect these vulnerable points. Aside from installing these systems, you can also make it more difficult for a crook to enter by using stronger doors and windows and putting plants under ground floor windows. Because rose bushes and bougainvilleas have thorns, they may serve to discourage burglars. Meanwhile, protection need not be only against criminals because smoke and carbon monoxide detectors can also be installed.
One Way to Save a Few Bucks on Your Home Security Systems

And the security situation will wholly rely on visuals, in almost every situation. And this really requires that the home security systems have a place to store all that video. In some cases, with situations that are on a stricter budget than others, saving all that video just isn’t possible. For those situations, you’ll definitely want to try to do a few things that may help your hard drive. For instance, you can set your camera system to take intermittent picture files, as opposed to full motion video. A frame every 5 seconds should drastically reduce the space that you need, to save all of those visual frames. This is one way that you can save on your security system.
Post Boxes for Mails and Magazines
Friday, October 8th, 2010A post box is one useful home tool which you can safely leave without any worry that your mails will be tampered with or get lost. Its function is such that they add that layer of protection and security on things like personal letters. These things are not insignificant. In fact, they may be crucial to a lot of things that have to do with your life. Insurance documents, irreplaceable files and the like are still dropped of in post boxes even in this digital age. Just as you would secure your virtual files with an internet security and anti-virus protection, the same goes for hard copies. Mails, magazines and other items that go into your boxes are as important as any other. Therefore, boxes that hold them should be tamper-proof, safely locked and inaccessible to unauthorized persons. They should also be strong enough to withstand outdoor weather especially when these are installed outside front doors or at the gates.
Cheap Safes And Finding An Appropriate Product
Tuesday, September 14th, 2010You’re after some cheap safes, and that’s completely understandable. But the problem is, with markets the way they are, at your level of buying, you really shouldn’t be focusing in on getting the cheap stuff. You should try to find something that’s appropriate, because the market will have something that meets your budget. But what happens when you start out a purchasing process about anything else, and you start out framing it up with looking for that “cheap stuff?” What happens is that you’re disappointed with what you can get for your money, but you’re also disappointed because you’re being presented with what’s out on the market in the wrong order. You should start with what you need. There’s a reason that you’re out looking for a safe. And there’s a specific scenario that you have in mind. So you should start with that, and go from there. Because starting with price, that is completely shortsighted.
Advantages Of A Post Box
Friday, August 6th, 2010Despite the great influence of the digital era, there are still old school customs that takes us back to the time when things were much simpler, albeit, slower. Still, their is a feeling of nostalgia over something that is often overlooked for its function and importance. Receiving mail, for example, has become faster, efficient and more reliable through the internet. Sending emails is one of the fastest way of communication. But still, there are other letters that we receive through the Post Office. So make sure you still have your post box install in your gate or just outside your entrance door to keep them from soaking wet during the rainy months. These boxes also protect your information from snoops and nosy people who might use your personal data for the wrong reasons. Credit card billing, for example, are usually sent through the Post so install a secure mailbox that will not let these kind of letters fall off over the other side of your fence.
