Some Left Field Theatrics

Wednesday, September 14th, 2011

To break the monotony of the idyllic wedding scene, a couple may seek a bit of theatrics to spice up the occasion. Now we’re not talking about a full on Hollywood directors cut here, but merely a theme that’s perhaps something slightly left field. We’re not talking about extreme’s here either, like a space wedding (unless either the bride or groom is a certified astronaut, only then may this fly – excuse the pun) but rather something like a nineteen thirties Hollywood or something. One doesn’t have to go over the top; you’ll just need to leave all the actual cinematic qualities to be captured by the photographer. The Denver wedding photographer has undoubtedly seen it all so any themes may just come as a pleasant departure from the norm – which is what we’re aiming for. Of course things like castle and beach weddings create their own feel and are a theme unto themselves.

Beach Weddings Save Money

Sunday, July 31st, 2011

Are beach weddings less expensive? The short answer is, yes, they can be. Traditional weddings require that the couple select a venue for the ceremony as well as for the reception. Even in instances where the reception is held in the same place as the ceremony, the cost to hire the venue can still be fairly costly. With regards to beach weddings, both the ceremony as well as the reception can be held at the beach. Depending on the size of your wedding party, you may not need to obtain a permit at all. However, if you do need to obtain a permit, remember that it is nowhere near as costly to hire a venue, or two separate venues if needs be. Therefore, no matter which way you look at the situation, having your wedding at a beach location will save you money. And no amount of professional decorations will be able to achieve nature’s splendour.

Learning How to Take Nature Photos

Saturday, July 9th, 2011

Something I’ve recently been getting into is learning how to take beautiful nature pictures with my digital camera. My uncle gave me the camera for my 40th birthday as he heard that I enjoyed photography as a hobby. I don’t know who told him, but I suspect he might have heard it from my sister. I used to study photography back in college, but that was mainly black and white photos and back then I would use the school darkroom to develop them myself. I still have some of the photos I took back then, they are hanging on my wall, but in all honesty I haven’t used a camera in an artistic way in a very long time. Of course, I take the usual happy snaps at family occasions but that’s about it. I always did have an inkling to get back into it again, and this new camera is just the impetus that I needed.

Tokina 50-135 Review by a Canon EOS 7D User

Saturday, June 18th, 2011

I am a Canon EOS 7D user who bought this lens after reading this particular Tokina 50-135 review online. As previously suggested, I have now been fortunate enough to put my newly purchased on my lovely Canon EOS 7D DSLR camera. And just as I have hoped, the image quality, particularly clarity and sharpness, is simply amazing.

I found it difficult to take this lens off my Canon EOS 7D DSLR camera during a recent trip toScotland. For me, this lens is extremely useful in all focal length. I really recommend giving this lens for a try! I used to be a skeptic for a third party brand lens, but this lens changed everything for me.

After getting this lens, I am more convinced to buy more Tokina lenses. I am in the process of looking a good wide angle lens to compliment this excellent Tokina 50-135 lens. My first choice would be the Tokina 11-16 lens.

The Best Super Zoom Tamron 18-270mm PZD Review

Saturday, June 4th, 2011

Has the best super zoom lens finally arrived? Let’s see in this Tamron 18-270mm PZD review. First of all there are many super zoom lenses made by Canon, Nikon or Sony and they all claim that they are the best. Tamron is a third party manufacturers that make lenses for all three companies. How will the lens fare when compared with their lenses?

The first thing that you should notice is the small dimension that the Tamron offers. It is probably the smallest of all the super zoom lenses out there. Most super zoom lenses use the 72mm filter thread, but the Tamron managed to make the thread 10mm smaller. The end result is the 62mm thread.

Also, the Tamron features a new autofocus mechanism called the PZD orPiezo Drive. This autofocus motor will rival Nikon’s AF-S or Canon’s USM motoro. Although it cannot beat them completely, I see this as a great update that Tamron made.

Monday, May 9th, 2011

I have two friends that I have known for the longest time that just recently started a new business. I met them while taking some photography workshops in the past when I was still really fond of taking pictures. It looks like that they took it way more seriously than I did because they decided to open their own business. They specialize in children photography and from the looks of it, they seem to be very good at what they do. I looked at their prices and they are really affordable. I am sure that they have lots of business coming their way. Anyway, just to help them out, I think I am going to refer a couple of friends to them as well. I am sure that these parents will be very happy with the wonderful and exciting pictures that my two friends will take of their beloved and adorable kids.

Get Your Wedding Photography Pricing Down by Careful Research

Monday, September 20th, 2010

When it comes to wedding photography pricing, an ounce of research is usually better than a pound of regret.

It is possible that you’ll end up paying far more than a particular pros’s services are worth if you rush to sign up with the first one you hear about. Instead, go slow and do your research well.

Look at the various wedding photography gallery websites which feature a particular professionals portfolio. Compare the style of the photographs from each wedding photographer you are thinking about hiring, with another. If you find ones that are of nearly identical quality, but at the same time have widely varying prices, your decision becomes very easy. Clearly, the less expensive wedding photographer can do this job for less cost.

But even if it isn’t quite so simple, you’ll often arrive at a short list of people who have a style that resonates with you. Contacting them to request a quote and then negotiating a sweet deal may get you the best experience on your special day.

What Is Photojournalistic Or Lifestyle Family Photography?

Tuesday, June 29th, 2010

You may have seen a photography style where the images are just moments in time and not a posed or forced looking scene.  This style of photography is considered a photojournalistic style.  Photojournalism is a collection of images that tell a story.  Part of why this is such a popular style of photography is that you can use it to document a child or a family in a moment of time.  Lifestyle photography is similar, aiming to show a real life situation, but in a controlled environment.  These two styles can work together or separately to tell the story of a family, whether it’s a day at the beach, a picnic a the lake, the kids playing in the yard, or any other common family experience you might want to document.

If you are trying to find a Raleigh family photographer that specialies in photojournalism or lifestlye photography, be sure to check out their portfolio or read about their photographic philosophy before you hire them.
