Have you ever heard of stop motion? And so I took a film class in college I had never heard of stop motion. But it is is really cool way of animating inanimate objects. All you have to do is move them around and take still pictures of them in each little different position. It can get kind of tedious because you have to do a lot of little tiny movements to make the object like it is moving. I was so amazed by the idea of doing some motion. That is what I did for my final project in my film class. If you want to check out my stop motion project you can see it on utube. It is just absolutely amazing. I wish that there was more stop motion available to watch actually on the Internet. There is not enough. I think maybe people think that it is outdated but I totally disagree.

Learning How to Take Nature Photos

Something I’ve recently been getting into is learning how to take beautiful nature pictures with my digital camera. My uncle gave me the camera for my 40th birthday as he heard that I enjoyed photography as a hobby. I don’t know who told him, but I suspect he might have heard it from my sister. I used to study photography back in college, but that was mainly black and white photos and back then I would use the school darkroom to develop them myself. I still have some of the photos I took back then, they are hanging on my wall, but in all honesty I haven’t used a camera in an artistic way in a very long time. Of course, I take the usual happy snaps at family occasions but that’s about it. I always did have an inkling to get back into it again, and this new camera is just the impetus that I needed.
